Setting up custom buttons in Cytric

How to add a custom button in Cytric that takes employees straight to a merchant's booking engine.

With an additional button (tab), you bring offers that Cytric does not cover itself straight into the Personal Dashboard, e.g. airport parking, serviced apartments or event bookings. Employees find the link right where they already book. How the integration works in the background is described in Integrating merchant booking engines with Cytric via 1-CP.

What you need

  • Admin rights in the Cytric Travel Management System

  • The link to the booking engine of the merchant, provided by 1-CP

How to get started

  1. Open Travel Management System > Basic Settings of the Travel Management System > Edit Menus and click Add New Buttons to the Personal Dashboard (Overview). Menu names may vary slightly depending on your Cytric language.

  2. You see all existing buttons. Click Add New Button to the Personal Dashboard at the top.

  3. Fill in the form:

    • Location and department: For which locations and departments in Cytric the button is visible. These are the organizational units in Cytric, not the Business Units in 1-CP.

    • Text: The button label in German, English and Italian, e.g. "Airport Parking".

    • URL: The link to the merchant's booking engine, including https://.

    • The URL contains login information: Leave unchecked.

    • Display: Ideally in a new window.

    • Group: The section the button appears under, e.g. "Flight" for airport parking.

  4. Click Save.

The result

The button now appears in the Personal Dashboard under the group you selected. If you chose the group "Flight", for example, your "Airport Parking" button sits right next to the "Flight" area.

If you need help with the setup, use the integration request form in the Help widget.
